Join Seneca Mechanical's team supporting commercial and industrial mechanical projects. This role involves preparing materials, fitting components, and completing assigned welding and fabrication work in coordination with the shop and field teams.
Previous welding or fabrication experience is preferred, but not required. Safe work practices, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn matter. Welding assignments will depend on demonstrated skills and the qualifications needed for the specific work.
What you will do
- Prepare, clean, measure, and fit materials for welding and fabrication
- Read drawings and follow supervisor instructions for component layout and assembly
- Perform assigned welding within demonstrated skills and project qualification requirements
- Check fit-up and completed work, and report defects or concerns to the supervisor
- Use welding, cutting, and grinding equipment safely and maintain an organized work area
- Coordinate with fabrication and installation crews on material needs and job progress
- Follow site hot-work procedures, protective equipment requirements, and other safety instructions
What we are looking for
- Previous welding, fabrication, or mechanical construction experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to follow safety procedures and use appropriate protective equipment
- Ability to take accurate measurements and follow drawings or supervisor instructions
- Willingness to demonstrate welding skills and meet qualifications for assigned work
- Dependable attendance, clear communication, and a willingness to learn
